Hi Everyone, Its been a long long time since i've posted here, probably more than 2 years. I used to be LD, but couldnt remember my info so reregistered under stillLD.
I've decided to come off prozac after 2 years, mostly because I want to be medicine free (we'll see). Its been 6 days since i've taken my prozac, and I was under the understanding that w/drawing from prozac was pretty easy....that it would slowly leave my system and w/drawal wasnt too bad. (I have in the past w/drawn from Effexor- nothing can be like that hell). Well i'm starting to have shocks today; and that horrible crying depressed/suicidal feeling again. Is this just withdrawal??? Should I ride it out??? And how long should I expect it to last? Should I take one more prozac to lessen these effects?
I also take Klonopin 1mg/day- I want to come off that next. I will need it now to help me through this.
Please- I need advice! I feel like i'm going crazy...and its a horrible old feeling I don't like revisiting. How long will it last??

LD,
Why not withdraw slowly instead of going cold turkey? Reduce the Prozac dose by half for a week or so and then half again. Because of the long half life Prozac is supposed to be easier to get off of, but if you've been on it for so long it is still can be really difficult.

I would take a full Prozac and taper down to 3/4s of a normal dose for a month, GO super slow. Youve already stressed out your body with the previous NIGHTMARE withdrawl. Do you think its possible you have "sensatized" your strong body to these medications? Meaning you react in ways you wouldnt normally? GOOD Luck in the taper

You mean its harder to go off of Prozac if you've been on it a long time???
missinglynx- I don't know about the sensatizing. I'm sure its possible. But I want to get pregnant and want to come off all my medicine beforehand. I only went on prozac to get through the effexor w/drawel- that was 2 years ago! My dr. wanted me to stay on it then.
I think i'll take a prozac to dimish some of these w/drawal symtoms. Its now been 7 days....do you guys think that will be ok to take one now...and then what? every other day??

HELP!
Is this from withdrawal?? I am having the most severe stomach aches/pains of my life! Severe nausea, diarreah, feels like someones stabbing me in my stomach.Is this possible from prozac w/drawal????

I'm also having severe shakes. I feel so horrible...I really need some answers...anybody????
