I just started Nardil, and had questions about dosing. I know the dose that worked for me in the past (8 years ago!!) was 90mg. But I don't remember how long I took to get there.
Is it 45 mg for 2 days, then 60 for 2 days, then 75....and so on?
I've been on 45 for 2 days.
Please advise; thx

yes, I have a doc -- he's following 'recommended' dosing from manufacturer. But I don't know what that is (or don't remember). I'll follow his instructions -- more curious than anything else, since I remember it took weeks at 90 before to make any difference. I'm not as patient as I used to be. thx

Your quite right. I'd get up to 90mg ASAP(within a week or 2) If 90mg works for you it will take time regardless of your dosage/time before. For example, even if you spend 6 weeks on 45mg or 60mg you still need those additional weeks on 90mg for it to work. You could be on 60mg for 6 months but if your optimum therapeutic dose is 90mg you'll need 4 or whatever extra weeks on that.

Uhhh... Your doc really needs to actually look up the titration protocol instead of making it up. You start with One pill, 15 mg. Go up slowly, like 15 mg a week. Diving into an MAOI that fast could be disastrous! The dose you needed years ago may not be the dose you need today, and Nardil is 'specially famous for needing regular dose tweaking.
The Rule Of Psychopharmacology is NEVER jump in at a big dose of an AD. Good way to flip even a non bipolar person into mania. All psych meds need to be titrated up to the dose that seems comfortable. You can hurt yourself eating too big a dose of anything too soon. Your pdoc should know better. Actually, if you've made it to MAOIs so should you.
I loved Nardil, but MAOIs demand respect. Gobbling 45 mg right away sounds like a spontaneous hypertensive crisis to me, especially if it was your max dose before.

Why did you choose nardil, I am considering it now because it seems like everyone says great things about it, what is your dx. Me it's just major depression with associated physical anxiety symptoms, such as a constant tightness in my chest and lump in my throat.
