I have been taking Wellbutrin for a week and Zoloft for a month. I really want to stop the Zoloft and just take the Wellbutrin. I have noticed that there are lots of threads about Zoloft withdrawl, but not a single one mentioning withdrawl effects from Wellbutrin. Is this because there are really no bad withdrawl symptoms from Wellbutrin or does everybody just stay on it forever if it works for them?

When I went off Wellbutrin, I had no withdrawal symptoms at all, except I became more depressed. I tapered the dose over the course of about a week.

Do you mind if I ask why you stopped taking it?

It gave me very vivid and sometimes frightening dreams, and also reduced my appetite to about less than half of what it was. It was also too stimulating. This was at 300 mg. Although it did work fairly well while I was on it, which wasn't long.

I tried coming off of it a while ago and it was horrible. Had to go back on. It was fine at first but slowly over time I kept slipping. And the physical sensation of withdrawl sucked. Horrible headache, no energy, depression. Ick.

i might never come off of it actually. it's doing well so i'm not interested in stopping it. but if i go too long without it/get off schedule, it's terrible: headache, dizzy, totally crabby and irritability is unbelievable. i'm never going off without close pdoc supervision, that's for sure. but that's down the road and i'm very pleased where i'm at. but you can bet i take it everywhere with me so i don't miss a dose (i'm on immediate release, so i'm sure that's got something to do with it, too.)
