If companies know what meds we're on I'm comingoff

Posted by janejj on July 30, 2002, at 17:14:09

My goodness thats scary, I am taking prozac, this could affect whether we get a job or not in the future.

F*cking A*sholes, may as well just die, than live in a world where these insurance companies exist.

Companies discriminate and get away with it all the time, Oracle.

Small companies have an especially easy time discriminating, but all companies do it all the time, and slide right through ADA reqs.

They have clever HR people who can find legally justified reasons for why one candidate is better than another.

Hi. I guess I missed something. Are you saying that medical insurance companies report to our employers on what meds we're taking?

Unless you have a physical disability, I do not
see how the fact you have an illness would be known in an interview. They cannot ask if you are ill, just if you can perrform the job as requited.

How would anyone, during the interview process, know you took Prozac ? Perhaps after you got the job, but unless you are stpid enough to tell them
during the interview I do not see how anyone would know

On an Admin note, Dr. Bob has redirected both of these threads to Social, so I'd expect this one to go there soon too.
