Maybe someone will take me seriously then if I show them some scientific evidence... I wasted about three years of my life on Prozac because I just didn't care about anything. I lost all my friends, hardly saw my family, gave up on activities I enjoyed and basically did nothing but go to work, eat and sleep. I only even started to care about how empty my life was when I cut down on the meds. I am anxious and depressed as hell at the moment (swinging from one to the other) but it's better than what I was like before (so far). Just wanted a rant...

I sympathize with you....gawd do I ever! One thing that does p*ss me off majorly is the amount of time we are told to 'wait' until the medication 'kicks in'. Consider the amount of medication trials most of us go through, and that is a hell of a long time, time that most of us would prefer to be enjoying life! Months turn into MANY years, and it's like we have them STOLEN from us.

What I have noticed is doctors seem so damn afraid of meds that work quickly, esp meds like benzos and opioids, and the amphetamine-like meds and anything that they say can be "abused". Uggghh..oh man this will turn into a book if I keep going, but damnit I think the medical profession has to get over it's ill-fascination with 'addiction' and get on with the buisness of relieving suffering!

/rant

Best wishes...
Jay
