Hello, im currently at 50mg of zoloft am. FOr about 1 week now. I havent seen any improvement in my mood, actually worse mood. How long does it take for zoloft to start reuptaking seratonin? I read from another post that ssri's may decrease dopamine also? please explain this theory.
most docs say 4-6 weeks, but how does it take 4-6 weeks, if the drug is already being absorbed into the neurons?

well its about 2 weeks on zoloft, and my moods are still the same, sometimes worse. I feel anxiety, if it wasnt for 1mg of klonopin, id be in a panic. How long until zoloft starts to calm you down, say at 50mg dose. Makes me manic at this dose, at 25mg it was sedating, 50mg at 6th day is still activating.

It sounds like Klonopin 1mg 2x a day may help you while the Zoloft builds up and tweaks your system. To be honest you may need the benzo for at least a couple months. By then the Zoloft hopefully should be less agitating and have a more anxiolytic affect, at which point you may maintain your Klonopin dose or taper it off.
