Hi all im currently on a med combo for sleep, anixety, social phobia and depression.
Remeron 30mg At bedtime (helps with sleep alot)
Xanax .5mg as needed in day
Desipramine 25-50mg nightthis med combo is good, my sleep is good, anixety is lower, but my mood is a bit up and down. angry sometimes then sad, then gloomy. I have a few alternatives. or addatives, id like someone, maybe pharmonut to give me some advise.
Add 20mg of prozac in the morning?
Or
Add neruonitin to combo
or
up the remeron to 45mgi also have 37.5 effexors and 200mg serzones laying around. i DONT wanna add all 3. I want to add just one other med. need advise.
GOAL is to improve my mood.geno

How about raising your dose of Desipramine before adding another drug? The maximum dose is around 200 mg and you're still at 50 mg--probably not a therapeutic dose if you were to take a blood-level.

I don't recommend adding old drugs that you have lying around -- stick to what your doctor suggests!

I think it's probably there for augmentation purposes or as a sleep aid (although I take mine in the morning so I'm surprised to see it there). Anyway, tricyclics aren't the best ADs for mood swings and irritability, IMO.

true, maybe illl take my des in the am. It seems a little activating and waking me up in the middle of the night from vivid dreaming, i beleive from remeron. my mood is up and down, partly because my life isnt going well, shitty job and not liking what im doing. I may add neuronintin to stablize my mood.thanks

I've been having vivid dreams since I started taking desipramine. This has been going on (the vivid dreaming, that is) all my life, but I think the desipramine is making it worse.

Neurontin sounds like a good choice. It might help you sleep better, too.
