Seroquel,Zyprexa and Anxiety

Posted by Joeypanic on October 8, 2001, at 2:31:04

I was wondering which is better for anxiety and insomnia.I have Zyprexa but it kinda makes me feel weird through the next day.I was thinking since Seroquel has a shorter half life it might be better.I need a good sleep med and I've tried almost everything.Currently I take 3 mgs of Klonopin and 7.5-15 mgs of Remeron at night.I think I am used to the Remeron.I have been on 100-150 mgs of Zoloft but had to stay at 100mg because it tears my stomach apart.I still have anxiety and insomnia.I feel like something is wrong ith me because the klonopin and remeron does nothing for my sleep.Zyprexa w/3 mgs of klonopin didn't help the sleep either.I've tried trazodone also...no luck.I have been on Zoloft for 6 months and klonopin for 10 months.I need help.Is there any thing out there that can cut my anxiety, help me sleep and not feel like a Zombie? My Psychiatrist says this discomfort is good because it's teaching me to cope with anxiety.I say I need to feel better first and than work on the anxiety.Any suggestions would be great.

If you still get stomach upset from the Zoloft, you may want to add some OTC Pepcid AC or Zantac... Seroquel is good for sleep, but sedating if one takes it during the day for anxiety.

You might want to buy an OTC hypnotic like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or Doxylamine (Nytol) for sleep too.

I have tried Tagamet,Zantac and emetrol but my stomach doesn't want to cooperate!! If I go past 100mg of Zoloft my stomach can't handle it.I have tried 50mg of Benadryl but still nothing. Is Seroquel better than Zyprexa for sleep? I think I must be immune to sleep and anxiety!!!

For me remeron works well even at 30mg. If remeron or klonopin dont help sleep, look into ambien. Its great for knocking you out, and sleeping at least 4-8 hrs and wakeup with no morning hang over. But there are other sleep meds, like restoril and halcion, but may cause next day hangover and disrupt rem sleep.

Then you might want to have a doctor prescribe the big guns Prilosec and Prevacid for the GI upset, because every sufferer should be able to have a trial of a maximum-dose SSRI, IMHO.

Also IMHO, Seroquel is better than Zyprexa for sleep.

What is a good safe dose that will knock me out and calm me down.I am a little concerned about TD so which is doses are the safest and most effective way to take it? I only have anxiety and panic...no schizo type illness.

When you get blocked, please don't just re-register under a different name. I'm going to extend that block another two weeks now.
