Hello all, I am very worried about my friend she is about to be put on EFFEXOR XR 37.5mg and i am frightfully scared. She was on Paxil (sp?) last year which... well it had bad effects on her. In the sense that a very shy and extremely quiet girl now turned into a very inquizitive and frankly horny girl...
Which I worry now becasue durring the time she was on the Paxil she didnt want contact with me solely because i am like a grounding for her... and she didnt want to disappoint me she said.
Now she is being put on EFFEXOR XR 37.5mg and PLEASE if someone could contact me i can give more indepth information so as to possibly help her through this time...
Very Worried please help

None of us can say, but that is a good small starter dose. The thing I, and am sure we all have learn't with meds, is that you can only try, wait, and see.
If problems come up, make sure she tells them to her doctor right away, and there *are* many alternative actions, as you can see on here that many have taken.
Keep some faith...and the most important thing is she is seeking help. Hang in there..

She is lucky to have your friendship.
I had horrible problems with paxil and am now on 37.5 mg Effexor and doing well. I was a nutcase for about 10 days and a little sick for a few more, but now I feel pretty good. Still have occasion flashes of depression--lasting about half an hour or so--and still some social anxiety, but that could be from world events.
Keep an eye on her, but I suspect after the second week she will be ok. Keep us informed, please.
