not that im aware of/ Put you feel your anxiety and depression come back quick like within 5 days or so. remeron is good for people with major depression, anxiety, and sleep disorder. you feel alot better the day after you take it sometimes def within first week. But somewhat sedated, so adding a stimulation med after a few days or week, is preferable.

The manufacturer mentions a 20-40 hr. halflife of the med in your blood. From what others have mentioned a "wash-out" constitutes about five half-lives of the drug so say 200hrs for it to wash out. Oh, I would say 8 days maximum, but probably less, since you only took it for three days. As far as headaches, I don't know.

Geez - You just started Remeron didn't you?? Getting off it already?? It's been one of my favorites . . .
A couple of occasions, I have forgotten my pills when out of town. I experienced heightened anxiety, numbness and tingling in hands and feet, and a slight disoriented feeling. Also minor headaches - but that could be due to trying to reduce the anxiety with alcohol.

I wouldn't worry about it. I took Remeron for more than 2 years -- up to 45mg a day. My pdoc tapered me down to 30 and then 15. One day he said I could just stop taking it. I did with no problems. I felt no withdrawl symptoms. If you only took it for 3 days, that's not enough time to have withdrawl when you stopped even if withdrawl existed with Remeron. Remeron helped me quite a bit. Too bad you couldn't try it for a longer time (6 weeks or more) to see whether it would work.

Good luck.

Hi Firebabe1, I have been on remeron for about 7 months now to help me sleep. It didn't help me with the depression at all. I was on 45mg. I went down to 30 mg. for 3 days, 15 mg. for two days and tomorrow I won't take any. So far so good. And yes, I have had a mild headache for 3 days. Today it was gone, though, and I feel good. I am taking prozac now, too, so I didn't expect any bad withdrawal from the remeron.

I was also on Remeron for a short time, no more than a week I think. I was one of the few who found the "restless leg" side effect made it completely intolerable for me.

Despite the quite long half life, my unpleasant symptoms stopped as soon as I stopped taking it. I switched directly back to Serzone and felt no discomfort coming off it.

I don't recall having headaches, but many A/Ds seem to do things to your water needs. You may easily be dehydrated without knowing it. Dehydration can cause a persistent dull headache that is generally NOT relieved by aspirin or Tylenol. I suggest as an experiment drink LOTS of water - two big glasses full, wait half an hour, then 2 more, Your pee should be virtually colorless if you've drunk enough water. If you have a dehydration headache it will be gone within the hour. Otherwise, seek further help.

Good luck,
Tony

I don't think you will have any trouble getting off Remeron. I was on it for over a year, and when I quit it was pretty easy. For about three days I had some heartburn and appetite loss, but that's all.
John

Thanks Tony,
I didn't think about the water thing. You're right, my urine has been awful dark lately. I didn't know that the A/Ds would do that. I will try drinking more water. I have a problem with RLS too. At least I "did". For about 30 years. Two years ago I asked the doctor about it and he put me on Permax. Well, the RLS got worse, so he increased the dosage. It only got worse, so he increased it again. One night when I was up all night pacing, I decided that I would stop the Permax, and when I did the RLS stopped and I haven't been bothered by it very much at all since. Don't know what happened, but I'm happy.
