I couldn't find any reference to it in any major psychiatry or psychopharmacology journal. I know its a stimulant related to Modafinil. http://adrafinil.com/adrafinil.html

Hello,

It's a stimulant, and it's also been known to be effective in the treatment of depression. Do a search on google or check out the good drug guide at http://www.hedweb.com

. Alpha1-adrenergic agonists like adrafinil and modafinil are centrally-acting psychostimulants that can brighten mood and sharpen mental focus. They stimulate the noradrenergic post-synaptic receptors and thereby boost alertness, activity and energy. At sensible dosages, they are remarkably free of side-effects. However, the approval process in the USA is so slow, costly and bureaucratic, and the marketing hurdles typically so formidable, that foreign companies are often deterred from seeking FDA acceptance. [modafinil was licensed by the FDA as Provigil for the treatment of narcolepsy in Dec 1998] So elderly people continue to suffer the prescription of mildly dementing anticholinergics like the dumb-drug tricylcic imipramine. Adrafinil, by contrast, is at least as successful as hepatotoxic Anglo-Saxon products at treating the cognitive and memory impairments of incipient senility. Fortunately, a "French" drug like adrafinil can now be ordered over the Net; but it ought to be available at the local corner-store. It has the commercial disadvantage of being cheap.

John L from this board is the Adafinil expert -- he says it has worked wonders for him. There is a lot of good information in the archives on this board.

I just ordered some from www.antiaging-systems.com. I am hoping it will work well ...

good luck,
-cindy

That is where I got mine from the antiaging company.
It was sent to me in a box called "Olmifon". They send it by airmail and it comes in 4 blister packets, with ten pills on each.
There is 300mg in each pill and that seemed like alot to me to just start, but it was the weaker of the bunch.
Is it a stimulant like ritalin or like methamphetamine?

Thank you so much for your help.

Thank you-
