Why do certain meds cause weight gain?? I understand that certain ones cause cravings for carbs etc, but I've been warned that my Olanzapan will cause weight gain... will this be caused by cravings etc, or is an actual physical change that causes the weight... i already have low thyroid (not treated, long story) and very slow metabalism and constipation that causes weight gain... maybe it will just add to this??

Go to http://www.mentalhealth.ucla.edu/opce/gr.html
and scroll down to "Metabolic Effects of Atypical Antipsychotics"
then click on "modem" or "highspeed"

I tried that but can't get the article to open. What do you open a RAM file with?
