Provigil

Hello. I'm new here, so I'm not sure if this is going to work. Does anyone have any long-term experience with provigil (modafinil) used as either an antidepressant or a psychostimulant?

It probably is pretty powerful, but it didn't wake me up on Parnate at 400 mg qAM. I don't know if there are any studies on it for depression except maybe on http://modafinil.com/refs/index.html

Thanks for the info. I'm not currently on it, but I "experimented" with
it a couple of days ago. I didn't feel especially happy or euphoric, but I felt I could concentrate on my work and I wasn't fighting sleep all day. I think this put me in a better mood.

Hi,
I don't have any longterm experience with Modafinil, but I do have experience with its close ancestor Adrafinil. I did not like Modafinil when I tried it, but I love Adrafinil, and they are almost identical. And yes, for me, Adrafinil has performed very well in my therapy against longtime dysthymia. It is a very good antidepressant and stimulant both, just my opinion. Modafinil looks to be very good too, just not for me.
John
