Zeldox/Geodon Release

Posted by ChrisK on February 28, 2001, at 15:35:54

I went to my shrink yesterday and he told me that Geodon is supposed to be due out in tthe Drug stores on 3/12/01. He said that his Pfizer rep was bringing him samples next week. Unfortunately for me, my pdoc is on vacation during that week so I probbalt won't be able to give it a try until the ast week of March.

I certainly hope that anyone here who has been waiting for it can get their trials soon. I have had great success with Zyprexa but am looking forard to something that may be better.

Let's hope for the best,

Chris

Chris,
Is Geodon whta they are finally going to call this? My doc said there was another delay because they had to change the name because it was too similar to other drugs. I'm hoping to use it for a really strange GAD/depression situation which has been a tough one to get a good response. Any thoughts? Thanks, Jeff

According to a post somewhere above Geodon will be the trade name for Ziprasidone. I think Scott (SLS)may have posted it if you are looking for it.

After I started Zyprexa I was able to get off of my benzo's without getting my panic attacks back. I think that it does have some effects on GAD also. At the same time I was able to calm obsessive thoughts that were really bringing me down.

Geodon is supposed to be very similar so I would expect that it may also help with GAD.

Chris
