I am currently on Neurontin for vertigo treatment...Does any one out there find this strange? I see lots of postings for depression and so forth but I am on it for my severe veritgo disorder?? has anyone out there heard of it?? Should I stop?? What should I expect for side effects from this drug alone? I take 300mg 2 times a day only. Thank you all!

I just started it so Im not too sure as of yet...Im just wondering what all can I expect as far as side effects go from people who are on it or have been on it. Im not too sure this was the meds for me...

I take 200mg in the am and 800 before bed. I've felt no side effects. I've taken it since October.

As a mood stabilizer for chronic depression. I take it with 2 ADs, Wellbutrin and Celexa. I've only been on the Celexa for 10 days, though.

yeah see Im taking it for vertigo and I havent seen another person on here taking it for that...I hope he made a right choice is all. I am scared if it may do something to me. It does seem to make me a little sleepy. I guess from what I hear thats fairly normal though?? Dawn:)

Yes, in fact, that's one reason why my pdoc prescribed it - because I have problems with insomnia. I take 200mg in the morning and 800mg at night to help me sleep. I had been on Remeron, which helped me sleep at night. I find the Neurontin is not as sedating. What dose are you on?
You can find information about Neurontin on the Parke-Davis web site. If you type in www.Neurontin.com, it eventually will take you there. Or you can go to the Rx List site, for example, which has a bunch of info (http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/gabapent.htm). There are other sites as well, but they'll have about the same information. Neither of the sites listed above will address Neurontin's use for bipolar or unipolar depression, but both do get into side effects, indications and dosage, etc.
