Reboxatine, fatigue, coming off effexor etc!!!

Posted by NikkiT2 on January 16, 2001, at 13:49:52

Well, saw pdoc this morning and spoke to him about how low I've got again, and how tired I am all the damned time.

Well, he has decided to take me off Effexor, and put me onto Reboxatine. The thiorizadine has also been stopped as it's had it's rules changed and can only be [rescribed for schizophrenia!! I mentioned that I was really worried about coming off the effexor, and he said that it was nothing to worry about anmd that there weren't any side effects coming off!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT??????? So, I've got the great Effexor withdrawal to face now :o(

Well, the reboxatine is a noradrenaline re-uptake inhibitor... anyone know how this will feel as apposed to an ssri... and other other info on it. I'm also being sent for blood tests as preperation for going on lithium next month... and then the following month if there is no sign of me being better, he is going to hospitalise me....

well, just after a quick whinge, and some info really!

Ta

NikkiT2-

Just wanted to say that you may not have any withdrawl (re: effexor) to deal with... I had none. (went down from 225mg/day in approx a week)

I think we read a lot about it here, because those who experience it are looking for help... and we don't hear from the people who had no withdrawl problems.

Hoping you'll be one of the 'quiet'/no-withdrawl people... Good luck. michael

Nah, knew from experience that I would get them.. and they've hit like nothing else I've known really. I'm sick with an ear infection anyway, but can hardly move now without falling over and being sick. And my vision is terrible.

About to take an effexor (I was on 300mg)... heavens knows what to do.

I just went through Effexor withdrawal. I was taking 300 mg and quit a week ago today. It DOES eventually end. I had a few rough days, but am fine now.

You might want to ask your doctor if he will consider a short-term addition of Prozac while you taper off the Effexor (notice I said taper off, not quit cold turkey). That has seemed to help a lot of people get through it more easily.

Rebox gives me a lot of energy. That's what it does best. Biggest problem is sleeping lighter, so I take only 2mg a day.
