I'm sure you will get different answers from different people because side effects differ with the individual. I take Effexor XR (3-37.5mg)and don't have any sexual problems with it. I like the drug.

Lin, I take Effexor-XR 375 mg/day, and have minimal interference with sexual functioning. This was a relief, since Prozac, Luvox, and Zoloft all interfered with arousal and/or orgasm.--Cindy W

I take Effexor XR 300 mg a day and one of the things I like about it is that I haven't had any of those side effects (which I did have with Prozac, Luvox and Meridia).

However, it is different for everyone; I'm sure there are a lot of people for whom sexual side effects are a problem with Effexor. There really is no way to know what side effects (if any) will appear for someone before he/she tries any antidepressant.

I have had no problems with erections. My wife is satisfied but I find that quite often I cannot achieve an ejaculation. However, this does not happen all the time. Our sex life, at 59, is better than ever before, more intense feelings and more relaxed. However, we do not go at it so often! But when we do..! I think a bit of atmosphere helps, an aromatherapy candle lit by the bedside is nice. But when the old man does not want to finish things it is very frustrating - you cannot even go to the bathroom and get relief! Can anyone suggest anything - no jokes now!
