I've been on Effexor XR for 1 month now. My doctor prescribed it for my anxiety attacks. All symptoms of the attacks are completely gone - chest pains, hyperventilating, struggling to hold back tears, etc. I had been resisting taking medication for quite sometime, but glad I finally gave in. Cognitive therapy worked for a little while.
But Effexor XR has also "fixed" problems that cognitive therapy didn't. I'm very pleased with the results.
The only side effect that remained after the first week, is the "yawn". But that's it!!
I take 150 mg per day.

Thx for this info; it's really helpful to hear others' experiences.
Hope you're well. Kath
