Whatever happened to the Chicago meeting? Wasn't it supposed to be in May? Someone posted that they would arrange things. I don't recall any "official" arrangements being made. Did I once again let something interesting pass me by by just sitting back and waiting for someone else to tell me what was going on?
Bob,
If you have a get together in the Chicago area in the future, please let me know, and I will try to get there. I live in one of the suburbs, but I haven't forced myself to drive downtown or take the train on my own yet. I guess I still remember my friend in highschool ending up in Caprini Green when she didn't know her way around the city. I picture myself in the huge train station not having a clue which train to get on. Silly...Renee N

Would really like the opportunity to meet some of you folks. Cost would be prohibitive.

If you come to Texas, I'll be there!

Just out of curiosity, where in California do you three live? I live in San Luis Obispo (about an hour and a half north of Santa Barbara).

OK, if there are at least two others, I'd be happy to join you. But I'd like not to have to make the arrangements myself. How about a volunteer? I think Saturday morning 8/5 or Sunday morning or early afternoon 8/6 would be best for me.

And here's something else -- which could be in addition to or take the place of a Psycho-Babble-only gathering. The International Society for Mental Health Online:

http://www.ismho.org/

promotes the understanding, use, and development of online communication, information, and technology for the international mental health community and is open to professionals, consumers, and anyone else who shares those goals. Our annual (informal) dinner is Friday evening 8/4, and if any of you are interested in the organization, I'll post the details and you're welcome to join us.

I don't remember hearing about any arrangements. Maybe next time? Or, since I'm always here, in this case we don't have to wait until some meeting...

Cindy,

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area in a little town called Livermore, but if we could set up a meeting for the group of us on a weekend I'd be more than willing to drive to wherever was necessary to make it convenient for everyone else. What do you think? I think it would be a lot of fun!

This is a perfect example of black-and-white or all-or-nothing thinking, the extremes that us depressed people sometimes try to live by.

East coast or West coast? Two extremes.

The pivotal point of moderation here is clear: Texas !!

I can put up two people. (But you have to like big dogs.)

Sure, you're free to do this on your own, too, of course, I don't need to be there. (But you won't have a referee! :-)

California group, if we lived back east, we would all be in different states! I'm in Southern California...Temecula. Now San Luis Obispo is pretty, but Livermore! Ukk! (no offense). So far we have one northern Ca, one Mid, and one southern! And, why does Dr. Bob think we would need a referee? Hmm. Jennifer
