Yeah, it is good, BUT, I have been writing and eliminating posts all day, inadvertantly, because I am such a creature of habit--ie, click on "submit", wait for window to appear, close window.

Ok, so I finally figured out what was going on.

Dr. Bob, please announce the change.

I had to laugh when I read your follow-up! I did the same thing! Hard to get used to but I think it will help mistake prone people like myself.

Dr. bob did announce it at the top of the web page, but it isn't very noticeable.

Hey Dr. bob, can you hi-lite it or something?

I did the same thing, too! Then I had to try to remember what I wrote. I never even noticed it mentioned at the top of the page.

And so, he did. I see it now. But I am such a creature of habit, I don't usually read the top of the page--I just look for the yellow "new" tags.

Oops, sorry! First, for those who don't know what this is all about:

You now have a chance to preview your post before submitting it. Or, looked at another way, you now *must confirm* each post before it's accepted. Hopefully, this will cut down on submissions that are mistakes.

Second, why do you close the window? The idea of two windows (for the index page and the individual posts) is that you can keep them both open at the same time and go back and forth more easily.

///But, Dr. Bob! What about those poor folks who can't do two things at once! (Didn't say I was one of them, of course.....cough, cough.)

I guess because the smaller post window is in the way. It never occured to me to just click back on the main page. But what would happen to the smaller window? will it go down to the task bar? I'll give it a try. Please advise me if there is another way to do this.

Try this:

hold down the "alt" key. then, while keeping it held down, hit the "tab" key.

That should pull up a little list of icons for whatever you currently have running.

If you keep the "alt" key held down, you can keep hitting the "tab" key. each time you do, the next icon will be selected.

When you let the "alt" key up, whichever icon is highlighted becomes the active (on top) window.

It may take a little getting used to, but once it becomes a reflex, it's a really easy way to swithch back and forth (it's an alternative to using the task bar - no better, no worse, just different)

Hope that makes some sense.

Hey, Michael, thanks. I learned something new. See? You can teach a depressed dog new tricks.

Here, try this: cover the left half of your screen with the index window, the right half with the post window. Then:

Click on a post in the left window, get the post in the right window. Click on a new post in the left window, get the new post in the right window.

Submit a message from either window, get the preview in the right window. Submit it again in the right window, have it posted.

Repeat.

Does that work? (This is the way the version with frames does it, it's like having two windows in one.)

Bob
