TRYING

Posted by harry b. on February 10, 2000, at 13:30:15

Hi all, just a note to let you know that I managed to
get up this morn to attend an important meeting at
work. This is the first day I went to work all week.

What I did was have a fellow employee call me early
this morn (5:30) and remind me of my responsibilities.
It sure helped, made me feel like I was needed at work,
that I had obligations not only to myself but to others
here. I think I'll use the same ploy tomorrow.

I just have to take it one day at a time. I see my
psych tomorrow afternoon, he's going to get an earfull.

Thanks to everyone

BTW, Harry, a few months ago, I was immobilized myself, and a friend got me to work by calling from work and "threatening" to come drag me out of bed if I didn't show up by a certain time. I growled, of course, but was very appreciative.

Harry,
I felt so good when I read your post! I was kind of moody today, happy at work, and then feeling depressed afterwards mostly due to having to make about three trips between the car and the building to search for more things I forgot, or thought I forgot. You made my day. No matter how miserable you feel now, adding being unemployed would be horrible. I'm glad you have a coworker who you feel close enough to to ask them a favor. I have a hard time asking for favors. I always think they'll think I'm strange because they don't think of me as anything but an acquaintance.
Sometimes even aone day at a time is too much. There are times when I just try to get through the next hour. I hope you feel very proud of yourself. You did it today, you can do it again. Hopefully, it will get less burdensome all the time, until you actually enjoy things again.
Thanks for giving me a :) today...

Thanks Noa, Renee & Cindy. BTW, you're welcome
Renee. And you are right, Renee, sometimes an hour
is a very long period to get thru.

See, Harry, you're not so LONELY after all!
Look at all these gals you now have flocking around.
Sheesh, to think of all those wasted hours I spent in single's bars!
More power to you, Bub!

Kazoo, I need all the power I can get. Speaking
of single's bars, I stopped going to bars 15 years
ago. As for being lonely, yup, I am. Cyber friends
are turning out to be a great help and I truly
appreciate them, but they can never take the place
of a friend's presence or a lover's embrace.

My best to you
