wellbutrin and pregnancy

Posted by Andy on August 16, 1999, at 13:02:47

My wife is taking wellbutrin for both depression (not too severe except during the darker months of November and December, and more recently as a treatment for her attention deficit disorder - which is fairly severe. Although I see Wellbutrin is a class B drug during pregnancy (not enough data to know conclusively, but still seems ok), the real question for us is how to deal with the ADD. She is holding down two jobs (both parttime) and assisting in raising our other two children (one of whom is hers with ADD (and on ritalin), and the other, mine, who is not. Both were drug free during development.

My husband and I are looking at conceiving. I am currently on 400mg of Wellbutrin 3 times a day along with 20mg of Prozac in the morning. I have read that low doses of Prozac are alright while pregnant but have not heard much about Wellbutrin. Please let me know the potential side effects and complications that may occur while on this medication.
