Prozac Augmented with Serzone?

Posted by Dave on February 22, 1999, at 18:15:25

Has anyone had any sucess with adding Serzone -- in small doses -- 100mgs -- to Prozac Threapy 20Mgs a day. The reason mainly is to combat the anxiety effect of the Prozac. It seems a little much. The Doc just added the Serzone today.
Any info is appreciated. Thanks. Dave

Some SSRIs interact in such a way with Serzone as to cause some uncomfortable experiences. My memory may serve me wrong, but I thought that Prozac was one of these drugs.

Serzone is touted as being good with anxiety, but the jury's still out on this. Remeron, on the other hand, is great with anxiety. Why not augment with it.

Or, even better, why not add a small dose of Klonopin--it's a quite safe, and very effective anxiolytic. On the other hand, who knows how these psychiatric cocktails of new a-d's will affect us down the road.
