Nobody Likes Me

Posted by verne on January 15, 2006, at 2:38:41

Since I am a social misfit and outcast, I wanted to post this here at administration.

Sure I tried to communicate over at social. Some of my headings were: "Why I am such a Worm" or "Why am I such an excellent Worm", or even, "Why I'm such an ordinary worm".

I tried taking the low road, and then the high road, with little success. Like any worm, I was proud, unbound, even reckless.

I'm just pretending to be someone. There's noone at home. My reference, my starting point, and departure point, is emptiness. Don't mistake this with being a sociopath with no feelings or conscience.

I begin with my feelings and am thankful I have a conscience. Sure I wish I had a conch.

I no that many don't like me. They think they no me. If they knew me, thye may lyke me even less.

I'm so self-centered. I'm so sick of myself.

I don't know you very well. I've read some of your posts, and I haven't seen anything to indicate that you are a worm. You seem quite human to me.

Sarah

P.S. I suspect that Dr. Bob will re-direct this.

I guess I shouldn't fret since you all pretend to like people so well. What's real here anyway?

Jai, for example, swapped mutual love with you guys for a couple years - i mean, undying love - yet what happened to that relationship? She just up and disappeared without a ripple.

I just think all this online crap is complete crap - except for Larry. Larry defies the entire online experience (I'm not gay, really)

In conclusion, I don't trust online relationships yet I will admit some of you seem to make it work - perhaps, even without Larry, if that's possible.

I wish I had what you had. Meanwhile, can I please be blocked until half past the cows come home? I'd rather be cut off than play at relationships.

Someone said earlier that the real "block" was silence. I know that I'm not liked and will accept the verdict of the group.

Man, I wouldn't have lasted long back in Pilgrim times.

I've been able to slip by under the radar even though I'm no use to the group.

love and goodbye,

verne

Actually, Verne, these online relationships are real. I spent the day with Gardenergirl yesterday. Real, real, real.
Just because we don't all get to meet each other face to face doesn't invalidate our friendship (and yes, I use that word to describe vous et moi) here.
Please don't go.

Verne, don't be so negative about yourself (yep I know its hard, I visit that place myself regularly).

It takes a man, not a worm to write such an eloquent but destructive piece about himself.

Its all balderdash by the way, stop being a plonka and start living (meant in a nice way).

I generally dont come here as i find it a very negative place (admin that is) and prefer to spend my time on the alt board as its more friendly and helpful.

Float over some time verne and say hello.

I don't know what I wrote last night, not sure whether a block is coming. I'm in too much emotional pain to examine my posts.

Thanks for the encouragement. I think I need to take a break and quit drinking for a long time.

I bit off more than I could chew Christmas and followed it with some major purchases and big plans for rearranging the house. Somewhere in there, I bought some adulterated pot that left me sick for 3 days after only two tokes. Felt like some sort of chemical speed.

I guess I'll give up on the pot idea. It was like another midlife crisis. A year ago it was looking for a former girlfriend.

back to my hangover.

We're all real people. I chat to a few people from babble on MSN. It's good fun and an opportunity to get to know people better.

Take care

'I'm just pretending to be someone. There's noone at home. My reference, my starting point and departure point is emptiness. Don't mistake this etc etc', and of course I wouldn't mistake this for that.
There doesn't seem anything odd about this. I'm certainly not knowledgeable Verne, but that quote of yours, isn't that the Buddhist position on personality? Maybe not just Buddhism either.

Did I write that? I may have been describing the emptiness of the borderline personality. I feel as though noone's home.

I do have a Buddhist friend and some of his ideas may have rubbed off. I've been meaning to read some Buddhist works - if I ever start reading again.

Still in a tailspin.

Hi verne,

I guess it's diff. for everyone, and how you connect (or don't) with diff. ppl. online or IRL. But how you connect or don't with ppl online isn't a reflection of who you are as a person. If you feel that way, then maybe it's bec. you're not so happy with yourself? I know for me that's true. I'm not the person I want to be a lot of the time, so I know I don't connect with ppl as well as I'd like to, but we're all works in process.

I met someone online 8 years ago, and we are still friends. Through new babies, strained relationships, and problems with kids and husbands. We've shared cards, pictures, videos, presents, respect, and love. Of course it doesn't work that way with everyone you meet, but sometimes there's just a connection.

I enjoy your posts.
Quit being mean to yourself ;)
Misunderstnadings will happen online, thats what happens when you remove emotion. Its nothing to take personal....although that can be hard.
I hope you enjoyed your chili

Verne, you have a place in my heart.
sorry I've been away.

I can't think of a happier message on my birthday.
thank you so much.
my very best to you Verne

I had been thinking about you. I can understand taking a long break from Babble.

Lately I feel like I'm going backwards. I keep indulging one midlife crisis after another while postponing the things I should be doing - like living in the moment.

Sorry I brought you up in the middle of my drunken ranting. Glad you knew my heart was in the right place. I hope all's well with you.
