I think adding the woody allen style hat would help as well...I know , i know i do think he's a bit of a perv, but for other neurotics, he does give us a laugh at outselves--well , me at least...."I need a valium the size of a hokey puck"--"annie hall" or "manhatten" I forget

Oh come on, Tony...with my nose and glasses would we really need the hat? And you're right actually the pervert association- but t'would only work against us.

On the topic of valium and Woody Allen I have a (socially based of course) med question. Anyone up for it?

Hey. So here's the situation. It's past 2:00 a.m. here in the undisclosed New England state between maine and Connecticut. We can't be too careful. And of course must stick to the thread. I like continuity. Although it looks like we're changing it now, hmm?

So we just watched "The Ring" and sweet screamin' Moses, it was scary as hell. Well I thought I'd help myself through it with a diet vanilla coke and Bacardi. Now I realize I'm probably screwed because I'm still awake and don't think I'm allowed to take Prosom now(estazolam)...
My husband just said, "You don't need to sleep THAT bad!". of course he's probably already asleep...

Hi Noa,
you got me wondering too- I did a search using my name here (with the #) and the first hits were suicide posts on this forum! But just using my name, there were over 2 million hits. at times i feel like i'm too revealing here, but i have never mentioned this site to anyone (maybe because i don't know anyone else that is as crazy as me:-). but i do think you have a legitimate concern, i just wish i had some answers. take care, judy

I've tried it but realize now that I seem to have rather rigid rules about what flavor is "acceptable" in liquid form. Or should I say carbonated form. Chocolate shouldn't be carbonated. "Why's vanilla ok then, Karen?" you might counter. It's because it is part of the Coke...not standing on its own.
I'm rather partial to Diet Cherry Coke as well. not as sweet of an aftertaste. Quite the little connoisseur, eh? Obsessed, eh? Bored, eh?

Trading Spaces and soda debates- ah Saturday night...

I don't think I'll ever get over the demise of Sunkist Diet Lemonade. It was tangy and carbonated and just the closest thing to a taste bud orgasm that I've ever found.

I even called the company (in Texas, as I recall) to find out why I could no longer find it in any grocery store. Their vapid response?

Merchandising.
Shelf space.
Lack of interest.

I nearly wept. I drank this stuff like water.

I kept the number on my Rolodex for a couple years, thinking I would call them back to harrass them from time to time for taking away one of life's simple pleasures.

Occasionally, a six-pack or two would show up in weird places, like salvage grocery stores, Big Lots, places like that. I would buy every can and horde it at the back of the pantry (this was all about ten years ago).

I also love Green River. It's available at Bristol Farms out here in California for about $1.80 a bottle, but it "ain't Diet Sunkist Lemonade."

I take it quite personally when companies discontinue products that I love. Over the years I've attributed it to my weird taste that typically runs counterclockwise to the rest of the world.

Does anyone else lament the passing of a favorite product? I just looked it up on the internet once again. "Sunkist Diet Lemonade" = "Search yielded no results."

Sad.

Did I say this was a good day???

(I'm kidding, of course - it is a good day but I do miss that beverage).

Hmm, never had it. maybe it was local? I don't even remember hearing about it. Happy and relieved to hear that someone is as, um, enthusiastic as I am about soda. You realize right, that it's a bit of a sickness? Why not add another to the mix. That's what I say!

I assume that you've attempted to recreate your beloved lemonade...Crystal Lite + seltzer and all that? Silly of me to ask really. Do you like Fresca?
"Taste bud orgasm"...you have a sassy use of words. But I really hope you didn't drink the stuff in *public* ala "When Harry Met Sally"!

>= "Search yielded no results."
Only time will heal your wounds...

I miss Mr. Pibb. That might've been only in the Midwest though...
Yours in beverages,
Karen

I do agree about Hildy and am mildly embarrassed that I know all of their names. I like Genoveve. She's a little spicy one.
Did you see the famous one when the woman was so distraught with the way her place turned out that she went off camera and wept? i just love that kind of drama...

I used to love McDonald's iced tea. It was fresh-brewed, they had fresh lemon, and unlike all the other drive-through places, they never served it once it got old, rancid, thick and cloudy. Don't people get that iced tea goes bad? Quickly?

Anyway.. they replaced it with some crap instant lipton godawful stuff with fake raspberry flavor. Totally undrinkable. That iced tea was the only sugar-free fast food beverage I liked. I'd drive thru JUST to get the iced tea. Dang them all to Heck for eliminating it from the menu! Dang them!

Is that the same one where she tackled her neighbor and kept saying "you promised, no brown!"? I am so going to get on that show even if it kills me! I love Doug...he always gets in fights with the homeowners and then goes off and pouts

No actually i saw that last night tho. She seems as if she'd adjust, didn't she? And then she just blew! You know, if you agree to go on the show you better damn well prepare yourself for whatever might happen. Just change it around a little for God's sake; don't be such a wimp. The one last night after the brown-wall one was really good.

I'd love to get on the show too. Although it really sems as if the designers have all of the say. And I'd need to have a little input. Right, because my designing skills are more refined or something! Ha.

We just bought our first house- get this...when I was walking around looking at the lighting fixtures, I was thinking, "Oooooo, ceiling fans...they'd get rid of those on Trading Spaces!"...so that's just how deep I've gotten in to this...
