The Witch King of Angmar

Posted by sigismund on October 28, 2018, at 8:02:22

I never knew much about HIM. I was interned in a boarding school and around 13 or so I had the 3 volumes with their appendices, and The Silmarillian (sp?) and I read them slowly 3 times, which blessedly took up most of a year. (One of our teachers could read the Icelandic Sagas in the original....I think.) It was obviously a metaphor but for the European wars, not for now. Peter Thiel is now a NZ citizen? The Palantir, that is him? Maybe this is Bezos? Looks like he has done too much Pilates. For those with a taste for this sort of thing......

And why would he want to buy citizenship here, for? Is he wanted for war crimes, back home? None of it makes any sense... Best for me to not to waste too much time on it, I think...

I didn't get in to the whole Lord of the Rings thing. I think it was because our last year Primary Teacher decided to read it to us for 20 minutes every day after lunch so the kids could have a snooze... It was snooze-worthy... I didn't get engrossed in it in that environment. It never came alive for me.

I do remember that I used to read... Literacy... The lost art. Haha.

I didn't mean that to be dismissive of your post. I was just expressing frustration about the situation and not wanting to give these show-ponies more attention than they are worth. But I didn't know that. I didn't know next to anything about kim dot com either... Just that he was an awful person exploiting our lack of laws...

I didn't realise these people brought their citizenship and so on.

I didn't realise just how bad things were here, in that respect. Auckland is pretty bad... Queenstown (around there) is even worse, by all accounts. Our politicians really did sell out in a really big way... For next to nothing... In New Zealand Dollars, even...

He has highlighted how corrupt they are. That's a good thing, I guess.

It's unclear why people would want to hide here...

I guess if you have to hide off-shore from the developed world there are less nice places to be for considerably more money. Here is so cheap for some people...

Our government prefers to breed masses and masses and masses and masses of slaves. For sure.

And to harbour known criminals. To give them citizenship... To incompetently run our very own highest court of appeal.

the issue is... it's pretty much all just not anything at all. i mean, what is it, really. the ability to alter a few numbers on an electronic record and hide the fact that you've done it so it's hard to be undone.

and then... you can do whatever you like.

most especially here.

by all accounts.

most especially here.

It's nice though, isn't it, how much the Christchurch mayoral fund profited from the situation.

and most of our start-ups fail. nz is the easiest place in the world in which to do business... which does just mean that there are people doing things here that would be illegal most of everywhere else... and the reason they would be illegal most of everywhere else is because they are bad in the bigger picture scheme of things.

it's all just data collection. apply for a scholarship or a job or a grant and it's all just data collection. if you have a good idea then you hand the idea over... and that's basically that.

and i guess they just tell themselves 'it isn't any worse than how things would be for the people'. 'if we weren't treating them awfully, their governments would be'. so... why not - if you can get away with it?

it isn't New Zealanders who are ruining things for everyone. it's people in the name of New Zealanders. it was like how our passport started to be used for terrorist activity or whatever so now our passports only last a few years before we need new ones... the amount of money our government must be spending on printing new money all the time and on printing new passports all the time and on... rubbish... an endless succession of offshore printed plastic non-compostible rubbish.

actually, that was maybe unfair of me. they are forcing the laws to develop. that's the only way they ever will.

i do understand things aren't black or white and it can be hard to see / assess what is going on sometimes...

i think our last one was held to account. eventually...

A couple of guesses why not. It's a boyzone story. The characterisation is pretty awful. And you are too young to have that feeling of it being almost too late.

But then again, I would bet a lot of money that we are in for a full dose of fascism. It feels almost too late to me.

I think Peter Theil's company is Palantir, but I might be wrong.

We had this myhealth thingo you could opt out of. I thought it was a good idea in principle, but opted out for complete lack of confidence.

Anyway the man organising it was from Britain where the same type of thing sold off information, as is the pattern these days.

On the general them of the decline of the west (which I should read in a good translation), antisemitism always seemed such an effort to me. Racism I understood perfectly well. Some people are differently coloured, and if we must hate someone, why not them. But antisemitism with its huge scope from Rothschields To Freud to Marx to Social Democracy and you name it seemed metaphysical (I know nothing about philosophy) and not even believed by those who believed it. As Hitler said once 'I know race does not really exist. Any farmer can tell you that. But it is really useful' or words to that effect. One Nazi film said that if jews were green it would make it easier to pick them out.

I thought our money was printed in Canada, actually, but I don't really know.

I see that the UK NHS is having a bit of an overhaul in association with being instructed to reduce expenditure. I don't suppose that is likely to be good.

I will learn things... Try and position myself to spam applications. Try not to get stuck in something non-advancing. I see...

Apparently Queenstown has became a place for people to buy a property incase they need to bail on the developed world. You can buy citizenship for 5 million or 10 million (NZD) without much of an actual residency requirement, at all.

What is our legal system going to do? Jail you? Lolz. Worst case you'll get home detention.

Apparently there is quite the divide between the superwealthy foreigners who aren't really here much and the locals who find themselves becoming increasingly poverty stricken...

I don't know. It's all stories and stories and stories...

I don't know.

Anyway... I feel somewhat better that Australia isn't doing the testing for Medicine entry anymore. I'm not sure that I should have much of anymore faith in the UK, however.

Anyway... It is vaguely reassuring, actually. I suppose. Maybe because of the higher quality documentation where they manage not to sound like complete and utter cowboys.

my power bill was better this week (well, $70 something rather than $130 something). which is expensive, i think, but not 'oh my God what if it gets worse???' freaking out. so i'm feeling less like they're trying to freeze me to death. which is good.

i am disillusioned with the consumer peoples, though.

but they do do some really good work on some things. a helpful place to start, yeah. i'm just really cross things got so very bad here under their watch.

I don't get a sense of whether these people are helping thing develop because they have good intent or whether they are just doing whatever they want because they can...

I don't suppose it matters, overly much. I mean, it does matter. But it's not something I can assess.

I saw something about blood product research. That's right... We have a single donor system for blood and blood products that people volunteer because they are led to believe that their donation will go to people who are injured or needing it for a medical procedure. They believe that if they become injured or needing it for a medical procedure that blood or blood products will likely be available to them... There is a opting in of a public health system that the donors believe in...

And if some or part of that is being diverted to people who are paying to have injections of young people's blood...

There's something awfully wrong about that.

I wonder how much it cost for that to happen, in New Zealand.

The sum would be a national disgrace, I'm sure.

And that... Is why we can't / won't train anybody to do much in the way of anything.

For the good of us all.

I mean... You inject someone with a substance that diluted their blood and you find that there is less of whatever it was that was in their blood before. That's supposed to be a marker of improved health.

It would be like if you added half a glass of water to your whiskey shot and you discovered the alcohol content of the resultant liquid was reduced!

Or you give someone a hand transplant from a person 1/2 their age and then take cells from the hand and declare there is evidence you have rolled back the clock on the person aging!

I mean...

I'm missing something -- right?

That isn't the gist of the research -- is it?

Shakes her head slowly and feels *embarrassed* for (supposedly) medical research.

yes, it is money printed in Canada.

it's plastic money, which makes it a good currency for boat people to invest in (I hope that is not racist).

it has security features that probably make it very detectable at airports.

I've heard of it. You only need to see the energy of 3yo and combine that with the amoralism and desire to commodify of the wealthy. They do something like this in China? Young people executed in prisons?

There has been rumour that the invasion force mounted on the southern US border is an expression of Hebrew values.

You know that line from Shakespeare 'All the world's a stage'? It isn't really about entertainment. On reflection it felt full of menace. For instance, how do you find truth in all this nonsense?
