Great!

Other trips in the works: New York City, maybe October 11 would be the best day; and Phoenix, also next May. :-)

Hmm, well, are there any other folks who would be interested in getting together in NYC? I'm going to go to:

Internet Health Day II
http://www.intel.com/intel/e-health/dayII.htm

and be on a panel at:

Quality Healthcare Information on the Net 99
http://www.ihc.net/community/conf.html

The first is free. Maybe other people would be interested and we could try to meet there somewhere?

Dee, I'm not from New York, but I would love to meet with other Babblers and Dr Bob. If we could arrange something definite, I'd take the train up from Philly. I'm not very familiar with NYC, but I think the location of the coferences is walking distance from Grand Central Station. Maybe there is a coffee shop or restaurant in the Hotel that wouldn't be too crowded? Or another place you're familiar with? I would hate a reenactment of the "line" in Boston! :o)
Dr. Bob, do we need to register to attend any of the Internet Health Day II talks on October 12? The morning speakers sound especially interesting to me.

I agree, let's not have a repeat of Boston!

Would Tuesday be a possibility? I wouldn't think a place in the hotel would be too mobbed. But I don't really know. Would lunch (ie, something during the day) be doable?

Registration is free! Intel has enough money already. :-)

Well, the next big psychology meeting will be there, but not until next August. Do you want to be in charge of finding us a nice place? :-)

PS: I should start selling T-shirts or something!

Hey, not a bad idea. Something unique, perhaps designed by some of our posting artists? I'll bet someone could capture the spirit of this great site! I for one would buy one. Dr. Bob can start a new career!!!

I'm not too good with places around Midtown East, put I would think that it is pretty crowded around there most of the time. How about downtown, around Astor place NYU... That would be some 30 blocks from Grand Central.
You know of any places you'd think we would be comfortable in, Anita... Or anyone.

Sorry... I had problems with my ISP... first I couldn't send, then I found the message was sent evetry time I tried.
Anyway, I don't know what I was saying anbout the place where we could be comfortable. I have yet to find such a place on this planet ;-D={

Well, I know of a large (believe it or not!) cafe in Soho (downtown area) that usually has empty tables. It's kinda trendy, but not oppressively. Dr. Bob, if
this NYC meeting sounds like it might happen, I can provide the name (which I've forgotten) and address of this cafe and directions to it.

SoHo sounds good to me.
(by the way, I work on Mercer off Hudson... If you need me to check the name or address of that place on my break, let me know)

Guess it kinda depends on how many folks will
show up. But that cafe in SoHo sounds nice,
Anita. Certainly a better option than romping up
towards 57th Street with Hard Rock, Planet
Hollywood, Motown, and (near by) the Harley-
Davidson cafes.

The only other thing I can think of that would
easily accommodate a group is for everyone to
meet at one location, hop over to a deli like
Schlotskis (sp?), then corner some territory
in one of the many public spaces in Midtown,
like the one in the Sony Building.

Another idea--Calfornia Pizza Kitchen. True,
it's not very New York ....

Yet another idea--we could meet for breakfast and
get a front rail position at the Today show. And
we could give Katie, Matt, Ann, and Al one of
those soon-to-be-hot-fashion-statement Dr. Bob
t-shirts -- free gifts is a foolproof way of
getting on camera.

Cheers,
Bob

That would be fine with me. But it couldn't be for lunch on Tuesday, then, since I wouldn't have enough time to get back and forth. So after the conference?

I have a friend from this International Society for Mental Health Online, a psychologist, he lives in NYC and might be interested. How would that be? If people don't want to open this up, that would be perfectly understandable and OK with me, too.

What time does the conference end? I for one don't mind opening it up. How many people do you think would show up, from PsychoBabble and elsewhere? Maybe we can get a head count?

Sorry, I won't be able to make it in the evening. I'll wait for the Philadlephia stop on the World Tour. I volunteer to host that visit. Philly seems much easier to navigate. Everything is very central. I'd still like to buy a t-shirt though. :o)
