I hate medication

Posted by sleepygirl2 on September 22, 2011, at 22:27:07

I hate taking it, yet I so want something to blunt my emotions a bit, keep them in check.
I'm so anxious... :-(
My Pdoc just keeps saying that if I acknowledge my anger, then I won't be anxious. Huh??
Being told AGAIN that I need to acknowledge my anger is really pissing me off.
Reporting that everything is "fine" feels like a better option. Better yet, I could surrender to the idea that the drawbacks of meds outweighs their benefit for me.
Feeling so alone :-(
What to do about anxiety? Well, maybe running.

What if you BECOME angry?

Is that what acknowledging it is?

I don't know. I could easily be angry and express it about a lot of things. Circumstances don't usually permit it. I am having issues with my Pdoc. If I am anxious it means I am angry. If I think people don't like me, it's because I don't like them.
The thing is that I have always been anxious in social situations, and I've had horrendous experiences. People have been unkind.
I sort of wish he'd just say "listen, your meds won't change, until you decide to come off of them, so you'll just have to cope."
I sort of hope I am misunderstanding him.

Do you dislike the treatment you get from your pdoc in addition to your meds?

Do you think he's trying to tell you he has done all he can do?

I don't know, SG. Running sounds good.

I have gotten angry even when circumstances haven't permitted. I decided it sometimes worked for others, why did I have this standard of conduct, I became especially tired of the one person in my family that did not become angry or really did not express anger.

Who was that character in the English Patient that defused bombs.

Yeah, I do think he's trying to tell me that he's done all he can, as far as meds go. But I can't do much else in 15 minute appointments. I think he has made a conclusion, but I don't really know what it is. I suppose I can find a way to ask.
I tend not to trust people who don't express anger, 'cause it comes out anyway, and I don't want to guess at things.
I haven't seen the English patient. I'll look it up.
Thanks fb :-)
