I used to belong to this gym when I was 16, and bought a lifetime membership. It isn't as nice as the one I go to now, but it is free for me plus my daughter can join. It will save me 70 bucks a month, but will increase my driving 8 roundtrip miles a day. Plus I will not see my T , it is not coed.
It isn't worth it for me to have my T deal with this stressful situation right now. I am doing this because I need to cut back expenses AND stop seeing my T. I am breaking the final emotional bond. Out of sight out of mind I believe.
Because whenever I see him it stirs up such feelings in me. What do you all think? I know I will still have to deal with those feelings and issues in therapy still.

Hi Happyflower,
I think you made a very hard decision and that you realize that you need to cut as many ties as possible with your old T. Think of it as saving money, allowing your daughter to work out with you, and in the long run saving you from all of the issues related to seeing your T. Good for you.

Sounds like a great plan HF. By doing so, you are taking control of the situation, which is bound to make you feel better. And stronger - you go girl!

Thanks Poet,
I know it is the right thing to do but I am going to miss those relationship I have formed. But hopefully I will meet new people and feel as comfortable as the old place. Kinda like Cheers, where everyone knows your name. How are things with you Poet. You gotta start posting because I get in trouble with not sharing the boards. lol

It's sounds like a difficult decision, but in the long run it will help you. I really hope that you can continue to talk about the feelings with the new therapist. I imagine they will come up, and you might second guess yourself. So make sure to keep talking about the feelings it brings up.
I can't imagine breaking ties completely with my old therapist right now. But then again, she was actually really good for me. And from everything I read about your relationship with your old therapist, it sounds like he wasn't nearly as supportive as he should have been.

HF - No, I have only posted under this name on this board. Maybe I just remind you of someone. Hope it was a good remembrance :)

Hi Happyflower,
I haven't posted much because I don't think I'm capable of offering much good advice these days. I'm depressed, working a part-time job that is heading toward mindlessville at a rapid pace and just cuts into my meager unemployment check instead of enhancing it. Can't quit or I lose the umeployment. My lfe is a big fat catch 22 right now, but I should use babble not ignore it. Thanks for asking.
