Going for a visit to see baby L

Posted by happyflower on October 27, 2007, at 14:16:40

I hope everything will be okay, yesterday she had a very bad day,she stopped breathing several times. My stepdaughter moved back to her house, and I think when you are in your own home, you can relax better and really let your emotions come. She didn't want to see anyone that day and I can understand.

My grandson 2yrs old will be there so I got him things to keep him busy since the father had to go back to work today. I bought a pumkin for him to help carve, a Halloween book, and some jack o'lantern place and bake cookies to make. I am thinking he might need some extra attention right now.

I am also making some turkey ala king with mashed potaotes (stepdaughters fav) and red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting for my step daughters birthday. I bought her a gift but kept it low keyed. I got her comfort items, warm pj's fuzzy socks, relaxing bath gel with a new scrungie and some dark chocolate truffels. We will probably be there most of the night, so I won't be on babble much.

I am so tired, I have been having trouble sleeping, I am way off schedule. I get to sleep about 2 am and get up at 10 am. BUt last night I almost finished my paper for school that is way overdue, but prof is allowing me to turn it in late with no deductions.

I have T next week, I made my appointment a month ago. But he is only in the office 2 days next week. I am thinking of canceling for a break. I saw him 2x last week. But my insurance has run out so I am paying the full fee. But I will wait to see what happens.

Happyflower, how kind and thoughtful you are. They are lovely presents and will bring a lot of comfort. Take care of yourself, and rest when you can. You are always in my thoughts.

Well done for coming close to the end of your paper too. It shows a lot of courage and commitment. You are a star.

Hi Happyflower,

Your grandson will love the halloween treats and pumpkin carving. Maybe he can draw a face on it for you to carve.

Remember to take care of yourself the way you take care of your family, you deserve some TLC, too.

Happyflower, you are super to your family and be careful with yourself too during this time. You might need the T so keep that option. I think you are doing your grandson a precious thing in the extra attention. That is a wonderful thing for him. And for your stepdaughter too. Baby Lia is in my prayers too. Take care and bless your whole family....rk

I had a great time, got to hold the baby for over 2 hours, just rubbed her back and she seemed to like it, her face was so relaxed. My grandson had a great time too, he was so proud of "his" cookies. When I had him pass them out to share, he stuffed two of them in his mouth first! lol He is like "MY cookies", but eventually he passed them out. lol It was so cute when he watched them bake for a whole 7 minutes, which is a very long time for a 2yr. old. We played hide and seek a lot and carved his pumkin which looked like his cookies we made.

I can tell she looks a little worse than a few days ago, but not really that bad. She is so tiny, her wrist is only as wide as your thumb. I kissed her goodbye too, it might be the last time I see her, but who knows with her fighting spirit. I am not sure how long you can live without food, she has pedialight and morephine, but 10 days seems like a long time without food. She can't take any kind of formula because her intestines aren't connected or something like that.

I saw the pictures that this photographer took of her, she donates this survice to terminal ill people. She made such a touching video, OMG, and it had Josh G. ( if forgot the last name) It was so touching. What a wonderful thing to do with your gift.

I think I am still in shock about my brother, I don't know I did cry a lot when I first found Tuesday. I just can't believe he is actually gone from my life. But at least he isn't suffering as much now. It is weird because the only immediate person left is the person I dislike the most, my mother. What a sh*tty deal that is. Well I need to get to bed. Thank you all so much. Your comments all have been such a healing and comforting source for me. Even the people who don't know what to say. There isn't anything wrong to say, really. Just letting me vent here without judgement, is such a relief to me. ((((((babblers)))))

You are a wonderful woman. You have survived so much, and you are an inspiration. I really mean it. I know you may be on auto drive now, so please try to see your T. He will help you. You can have an entirely different session--you are dealing with an extraordinary amount of grief right now, and maybe you can lean on him a little. He sounds like a wonderful person and you need support too.

That sounds so beautiful, Happyflower. So much more loving and fitting a way to spend her life than in a hospital on machines, with no snuggling from her family. What a blessing that they'll always know they made her time here as special and as wonderful as a baby could have.

Sounds like her little boy is adorable, and is handling this well.

There'll be time enough for grieving when Lia is gone.
