Agoraphobic No shower/brush teeth. Don't care :(

Posted by corafree on November 21, 2006, at 15:12:44

Building up since maybe 3-4 weeks ago.

My anxiety is way off any chart I ever had! I won't even go out to get my mail.

Is it holidays? Is it missing Dad? Is it a result of my nervous breakdown last March? I am 'broken' now? Is it E-XR 'again'?

I want to cry (only emotion sadness) but E-XR makes it impossible for emotions to rise to your recognition.

Cannot titrate off E-XR 'now' as I'm 'smackdab in mid holidays', 'cuz .. THIS TIME withdrawal will be difficult. (I know; checked it out.)

This began about 3wks ago when I was babysitting 6moold and 1-1/2yold, and I fell to the floor in a sitting position, baby on lap, toddler kind of trying to get on top of us w/ a toy, then I began bawling, got weak and could barely stand up, hyperventilating, .. called a friend for help. Put baby in bed in locked room (re: toddler). House child-proofed and toddler played while I layed down in my bed until someone arrived.

That's what made me think needed AD again and started E-XR. Wish hadn't.

I've never felt this way before.

Corafree, i don't really know your history. I'm sorry your so frightened right now. do you have T or P-doc you could contact? Do you have any xanax or clonopin or anything? Sometimes even benedryl or gravol helps in a pinch. But I don't know what you can mix with your Effexor?
Breathing exercises might help.
Noticing how the emotions rise up to a creshendo, but then ease off like waves might help.
Chamomile tea(if its OK w/Effexor).
They might be able to help you with meds questions more on psycho-babble(as opposed to psychology). There are some very knowledgable people there.
And remmember, you haven't always felt this way. That this will pass. Right now its hard, but it will pass.
And being around people if at all possible is always good.
Sometimes when stuff gets real bad for me, I curl up nad rock and say over and over, "its ok, its ok", until the worst passes.
This will pass corafree, try not to be too scared, and distract yourself if you can.
Take care,
Muffled

Call your doctor.

Do it now and keep calling until you get some relief.

I think sometimes it matters less why were are in a situation, than how we are going to get out of it.

Get some help sweetheart, you need it.

We'll be here for you all we can.

The holidays are awful sometimes.

If you started the Effexor on your own and set the dosage yourself, that might be part of the problem.

Call your doctor, be persistent, get help. Whether or not the doctor prescribed the Effexor this time around, he/she needs to know what's going on.

You probably shouldn't mention what happened with that toddler. It's past, nothing came of it, and it's not the doctor's business at this point. Nothing right now is more important that you and getting help.

Good luck!

Corafree I've e-mailed you if you cut your valium from 30mg a day to 21/2mg you are in withdrawal from the benzo. Your pdoc is wrong in cutting your dose down without titrating and call him now and up your dose. Love Phillipa

It's Sunday eve mountain time.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I can't post the same message on two boards P.

I will call my P tomorrow, but truly I haven't a clue what to say to him. I feel like I cannot communicate effectively about how I feel. I can't discern one drug from the other as to the culprit. I'm so confused. I don't think Eff-XR was helping to begin with ... I don't think I felt anything diff' when began Provigil ... and Valium just puts me to sleep sometimes, ... It's all hazy, unclear. I have just 'moments' to convey 'how I feel' and I feel like saying 'I just feel like sh*t!' and don't know why. It may be missing my father. It may be circumstances in my life. It may be Eff-XR or living on Valium 24/7. I am taking as prescribed by him. Not messin' w/ things myself. I do have an order for quite a lot of blood tests. I've been anemic forever, and who knows what else might show up .. something I hope. I thought I would go tomorrow. It feels sort of like I have 'chronic fatigue'. I've never fallen asleep easily, but lately I just sleep, sleep, and more sleep, after doing nothing! I'm so sorry I couldn't respond until now. I was busy planning T-day dinner, then when everyone arrived I went to lie down just a bit, and they tried to wake me, 3 times, and I just kept saying 'bye' I guess. I awoke @ 3a and well, Thanksgiving was over. Then I slept all day yesterday and woke up @ 10:30a today, not knowing what day it is. My ex had to come to Thanksgiving too. I think more of my children than myself and want them to be happy. So, he comes w/ them. I mean, he's grandpa to the four babies too. I think somewhere inside that bothers me too. And on and on and on I go ... don't even know 'where' I am.
