Yes, I just called my T to hear his voice

Posted by madeline on May 13, 2006, at 18:26:59

On the answering machine.

I getting ready to go out to a party, and I'm getting all anxious and worried.

I hyperventilated in the shower.

But, I'm not going to let it get the best of me. I am going to go to that party and try to have a good time. I am going to relax and let people talk to me and talk back. I am going to stay until I feel relax.

I control this (deep breath)

Dammit to hell!!! I am going to go!!!

Thats right! You can do it. And I bet you'll have a good time too!
Isnt that what the voice mail is for sometimes!?!?
I do the same thing. I am sure a lot of people do. Just hearing your T's voice can help.

I do it all the time lately.

Sometimes more than once a day :-(

It's not great, but MUCH better than nothing.
I had 2 voicemails on my cell I planned to save *forever* (he knew that and smiled at me about it), but my system deletes them after 14 days, apparently, no matter what I do/did to try to re-save them...drat :-(

Wish I could be brave enough to ask him to make me another one - just because - but it's feels so silly and weak....bleh.

Hope it went well, maddie, and that you beat back that sneaky anxiety-monster.

you know, i still have an email from my t that he sent me in the beginning of march! and also, when i was very alone during spring break (the beginning of march) i went tooling around online and found pics of him in his karate suit at his old college. i go to that site often, just to look at him, cause i really don't want to call him, even though i do want to! i just don't want to get dependent on hearing his voice, and actually i have calmed down on going to that site with the pics of him, i used to go to that site every day, sometimes three times, now i barely go once a day, not even that! but it would be nice to hear his voice, you guys are lucky!

Maddy, good on ya going to the party. how did it go?

i can't call mt old T's answer phone and I haven't managed to find him on google but there is one directory where he is listed and sometimes i'll just put that on the screen so i can see his name. Wow i feel ashamed admitting that.

It didn't go well.

I was nervous, drank too much and made a fool of myself.

I spent the last half of the night in the bathroom wretching.

I feel really horrible, physically and emotionally today.

I am such a hopeless case sometimes.

thanks for the hug milly.

Understand I don't feel too special today. But at least I'm coming around physically. Hangovers are the worst.

I still feel like a total loser emotionally though. I'm glad I see my T tomorrow.

I flirt too much when I'm drunk. Why do I do that?

Oh well. At least I had my best friend with me to keep the wolves at bay.

Maddie

I think hearing your T's voice is so comforting. I admit I keep a few messages so I can listen to him, when I feel I need some support to get me through. It helps for me to see him at the gym too, mostly anyways. One time I called just to connect with him, it was when we started to do once a month therapy instead of every 2 or 3 weeks. He was so nice and caring, it helped so much. I think it is okay to need and allow our T's to support us.
