Let her come play with me at Camp Comfort.

I picked up some rocks when I was walking my dogs, and I'm trying to build a stone wall with them. So I can sit on it to wait for my therapist to come back. But I have to figure out some kind of "cement" because I'm not very good at building a stone wall. Maybe I'll make some clay and use that.

What would make little muffy feel safe? Would she like a teddy bear? Or to hide in a blanket fort? Or maybe you could think of something that would be fun - sort of a distraction. Would she feel better if she could cross the days off on the calendar until your therapist comes back? You can tell her that you don't need to deal with the stuff inside until your therapist comes back. You can put that stuff away in a strong box until she comes back. You don't have to do hard therapy work while she's away - you sort of get a therapy vacation. (Like how I'm going to sit on the wall, and wait for my therapist. When he comes back, then I'll get up and start walking again.)

Let her eat some ice cream. That always makes me feel better.

HA! It is 10 degrees warmer here than it is there today!

But I don't WANT to change my routine (she whines)...

Thanks for being there in case I start teetering.

**Muffy is never safe, ever. But she can have fun. Can I help you with your wall? We can make it wide so you don't fall off.

Thanks Falls, you a good friend.

Ah, that's an idea. I was going to make play clay from flour and salt and oil and water.

Sure you can help! The wall represents my therapy journey. I'm trying to figure out how tall it is, whether it has dropoffs on both sides (or is it a wall holding up a hill?). I do know that it is hard to keep my balance. One thing I do with metaphors that I use is try to see how I can change things within the metaphor to figure out how that would change things in life. For instance, I'm afraid I'll fall off if I walk on the wall, so I can sit down and wait for my therapist to come back - this translates into not pushing myself while he is on vacation. You bring up an interesting change - is there someway that I can make the wall wider, so it is easier to walk on (even temporarily)? I'll have to think about that.

Put a strong lock on the box so it can't open up.

I like bugs a lot. My previous career was a software engineer - my specialty was fixing bugs, so I had all sorts of plastic bugs in my office. I think bugs are facinating.

It's a very good thing Camp Comfort is not in my backyard, because it would be under water. The poor dog doesn't like to get her "delicate paws" wet, but she can't hold it forever!

I may be joining y'all for a bit. I'll know more next week. I love rolling down hills!

You could put railings on your wall. All high walls have railings or balistrade or something. Or warning signs (this could translate to putting notes in strategic places where you think you might slip). And babble could hold your hand.

I read "The Secret Life of Bees" awhile back, I remember a character adding stones to her wall when she was sad or anxious. She also wrote down her worries and stuck the paper between the stones. That image stayed with me.

I would like to buid a wall too. It would be nice to walk on top of the wall, skipping when you're are happy, sending a message to my psyche that today I'm on top of things, my worries beneath me.

Wow, Camp Comfort is opening early this year!!

Good thing too. I want a room with a view of the ocean AND the pool.

And I hope the service this year is better than last, it took the pool boy over 3 minutes to bring me my pina colada when I was there last may.

Ah, camp comfort.

My therapist hasn't mentioned going on vacation this year - yet, but I'm sure he will.

Maybe I'll schedule my vacation when he does. Now's there's a thought...

I'd love to reframe it so that my worries were underneath me, but I think (right now) that I'm afraid of heights...

I'm OK. Just a little depressed. Plus I have a cold and sore throat. And unmotivated, and lacking in concentration. And I really don't want to put in the effort to feel better. So am I just feeling better for my therapist?

I schedule my vacation in the summer during one of my therapist's vacations. It works pretty well. I get a change of scene, and don't have to worry about him being annoyed that I'm cancelling sessions for something trivial like a vacation.

Camp Comfort is open whenever it is needed. It's nice like that!

Until your T is back from his sunny vacation ....
You're half way there!!

What activities are underway at Camp Comfort this afternoon? I was hoping to a chance to just mope around without explaining myself to anyone. I really feel a need for a good old fashion cry but the tears won't come. Bummer.

Do you cry in response to others' crying? Because I'm sure I can work up a good one if needed. :(

Well, you girls can go have your cry, there are crying towels over there to dry your eyes with.

I'm doing OK. Have a nasty cold, but the depression seems to be a bit better.

I could go for a rollicking card game. Anyone up for "I Doubt It"? or "Oh, Pshaw" (well that one is known by other names but they have asterisks in them)? GG, how about Yucca?

What seems to be the trouble, Annierose?

I love playing cards. If I go to Toronto we can play cards in someone's hotel room. Sorry your cold has decided to hang around.

My need to cry? I don't know. I just feel things are bubbling just under the surface and need to come out --- but for some reason, I won't let them.

Maybe I'm mourning the loss of my Thursday sessions??? Doesn't make much rational sense since I do like my Tuesday time. Maybe my latest discord with my T brought up lots of old stuff. I do feel like our relationship is getting back on course.

We can talk about all this stuff at Camp Comfort. I'm also thinking about Daisy and wondering how she is doing.

... if it what I remember, the dealer deals the entire deck of cards.

Then, starting to the dealer's left, the player puts down "1 Ace" (or 2 aces, 3 or 4). You must play in sequential order of the deck of cards. Obviously, at some point a player will need to "lie" (not having the type of card called for on the next play) convincingly so. If you don't believe that player has played the correct card, another player will shout "I doubt it" (or another phrase with the initials of a b., then a s).

Correct me if this isn't that game.

You use more than one deck of cards, and really need 4 or more players.

Shuffle all cards and deal them all out.

The first player places some number of cards face down in the center and says "2 Aces" (or however many they are putting down). The second person has to play 2's, the third 3's, etc. around the circle. You have to play at least one card on your turn.

If you don't have the cards that you need in your hand to put down, you lie and put some other card down. If someone else doesn't believe you, they say "I doubt it" and the cards you put down are turned over. If they are the cards you said they were ("2 6's"), then the doubter has to pick up all the cards in the middle. If you did lie (and the two cards aren't 6's, or there are not 2 cards), though, you have to pick up all the cards in the middle. The object of the game is to run out of cards.

Wanna play?
