Not my therapist (a woman ... I just find her motherly), but my pdoc. yum. He's just soooo.... masculine.

My therapist is a woman, but I'm queer -- oh, and so is she. It was the first time in my life I could open up to someone.

It's funny, my girlfriend thinks her therapist is hot too -- and she shares a lot of qualities with my therapist, and I share a lot of (physical) qualities with hers. . .

hmmm.

sweet,

although i haven't completely experienced it yet, i've been told, and i believe, that working through the transference can actually *help* you get better. it can be a very useful tool in therapy. and i understand being embarrassed to tell him (i'm so embarrassed, too) but i told mine and they are really so understanding about it. it's very common so they're used to it, and they know it's not really about them (even though it may feel like it is to us), so you shouldn't be embarrassed. (easier said than done -- i still feel totally embarrassed talking about it, even though we've discussed it a few times now.)

so, i definitely think you should try to work up the nerve to tell him. it will be hard, but useful, and it may be satisfying and fun, too.

best of luck,
crushed out

Transference is real! I have experienced it and finally had the nerve to talk to my therapsit about it. One of these threads recommended a book called In Session by Deborah Lott which was very helpful and gave me the courage to tell him about my feelings. That was about six weeks ago and the subject comes up once in awhile now but the best thing is that I really know I can trust him . I still don't quite understand how tranference will benefit me other than to learn to feel nurtured -- a feeling that I did not have as a child. My feelings of strong sexual attraction, which in the beginning were overwhelming, have diminished since I told my therapist and he reacted with understanding and sensistivity. I truly have learned to trust him which can only make the therapy that much better.

My therapist was hot and then she gets an attitude because I checked her out. Look asshole don't come to work in sexy clothes if you don't want people lusting over your ass. That's what I say.

<<<Ha ha.. What kind of attitude did she get? What happened exactly? I have talked to my therapist many times about my crush and even recently admitted (GULP!) to thinking about him when I masturbate. He said that I had his permission (only because I have extreme feelings of guilt associated with sex). It has its upside. But, I wouldn't say he dresses sexy. I do, but not him. Maybe I'll suggest it. Not sure he'll follow suit. Tell me more though, I'm curious..... What happened exactly?

You may be hurting, but please don't use language that could offend others. I asked you before to be civil, so now I'm going to block you from posting for a week.
