figure heads, yeah.
i remember daniel dennett (philosophy professor at tufts) had this thing about uncle sam or the president or ronald macdonald. as figure heads or similar.
i thought that there were teams of advisors. and lots of people... the think tank... people looking into things. researching. thinking about things. writing up the thinking. making recommendations.
policy advisors or policy analysts or whatever.
some employed by government. some working independently. the government contracts to various agencies. deloitte is a name that comes up a lot in new zealand. doing 'independent' inquiries or reports or whatever.
the sort of thing that literacy was supposed to be good for. critical reasoning. research skills.
but you apply for an entry level government position and they want the youngest and most 'minimal of standards' person they can find (in new zealand). to go get paper documents and scan them into the computer so the american businesses can access them on demand. or whatever. to withhold documents that might be relevant to the succession of the King of Samoa or whatever.
anyway... they decided that was not for me. i applied... and they sent me for testing and they say i test badly and they don't process my applications anymore. so there we go.
i must have failed their ethics litmus test.
the one where you go away... and come back with fraudulently altered qualifications. paying a bribe to the employment firm or company.
then they can go 'yes, you are one of us'.

The incompetence of US geopolitics cannot be the issue. The axial ends of Eurasia are controlled, and there is money to be made in the protection of the US$ reserve currency.
That is the best I can make of it.
It's like we have ADHD......the rationale for our enemy de jour continually changes. It is odd how well that works internally.
It's one way to run a world.
