Alternative to Seroquel XR

Posted by displaced9 on September 11, 2010, at 20:28:01

Hi,

I have been taking Seroquel XR 100mg in addition to Zoloft 50mg for several months now (for MDD and GAD, and while the medication seems to have a positive effect on my mood, it seems to wreak havoc on my body. For the few weeks, I had terrible muscle soreness (stiffness) and a general bad feeling. That went away with time, but I have gained weight (about 15 lbs.. seems to have plateaued), I have joint pain in my hands, muscle stiffness, and it has exacerbated existing muscle tics/twitches that I have (rubbing fingers and toes together repeatedly..)

Soo.. It does not look like this is good for me. I have been on quite a number of medications, and trying to get that "cocktail" just right. Is there anything that some might suggest? I am typically very sensitive to medications, and experience side effects. The zoloft 50mg low dose is the highest I can go without getting bad anxiety.

Thanks

Well, i have always had the tics/twitches, although I guess TD could make it worse? I used to take Clonidine for the tics and it worked quite well, stopped taking it because the Dr I had at the time had me on about 8 different things and I was a mess.

Anyways, I had just learned to "deal" with the tics, but the pains, and other side effects I'm growing tired of..
