Hi everyone,
I have an appointment with my psychiatrist this coming Thursday and, after having no success with 1mg of Haldol, I'm going to ask if I can try Lyrica for severe anxiety.
Does anyone know if Lyrica is a long-term treatment for anxiety or is it similar to benzos where it should only be taken on an 'as needed' basis?
Thanks!

hey jms--
i was started on lyrica a few months ago when a ton of xanax just wasn't doing it. i started at 50mg three times a day, and for like the first day or two, it was great-- it relaxed me just as benzos used to when i was benzo-naive. But within a few days, i was up to 100mg tid and soon, even that didn't work anymore.
I think i have an unnatural tolerance to psych meds, but just wanted to let you know. i would probably taking it as needed instead of regularly since, for me anyway, its effectiveness decreased every time i took it
good luck,
cb
