I have now been taking Emsam 6mg for seven weeks, along with 150mg of Seroquel and 4mg of Klonopin. After about five weeks, I finally felt a little bit of a response. My primary diagnosis is Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), and then depression. I am not sure Emsam is helping at all with anxiety, which is 90-percent of my issues. Has anyone else heard of Emsam helping with anxiety? And this may just be me, but going up the in the patch would likely cause even more of an energizing effect?
I have not had any side effects, other than insomnia, which was helped by the Seroquel and has pretty much gone. I think this is a great drug (stronger than the SSRIs but weaker than the other MAOIs) for someone with a lethargic depression, which again is not me. If anyone has any questions, please ask. I am strongly considering a trial of Nardil, just looking for someone on this board who has had a positive experience with Nardil treating their GAD. Thanks, Michael

Thanks, MichaelIncreasing your EMSAM dose will most likely increase your anxiety, as it is stimulating. Nardil does sound like a good match for you, however be prepared for more side effects then you are getting from the emsam, as it is a much stronger med. However, everyone's different, you might be lucky and have a smooth ride on Nardil, which by the way is usually very effective in treating GAD, as well as Most types of depression and social anxiety disorder. Good luck.

Michael is your depression fueled by anxiety or is the depression there all of the time? Love Phillipa
