Your message caught my eye. No matter my anxiety level, I try not to take anything before therapy. That way I try to go in deal with the anxiety. Otherwise, like you, I feel "cool as a cucumber" and for me I avoid what I need to talk about, or feel it much less intensely.

That's why I have trouble w/ADs too. For me, they blunt emotion, and that's a good thing when I'm in a crisis-feeling situation, but not so good for therapy anymore because I think they hold me back. (my pdoc reduced my AD and I did begin to feel more--the good, the bad and the ugly.
