I think that with suffering comes questioning and seeking.Some of the greatest writing and works of art have come out of suffering. It makes us look inward and it's said that our job is to find meaning in our suffering, depression, etc so I guess it's true that maybe we are different. I'm reading "Swamplands of the Soul" which talks a lot about finding meaning.
