I am starting a new post for a reply to your comments.

> I have had two or more major depressions in my life, separated by as long as 15 years of normalcy (or nearly that). This latest seems to be taking a long time to fade away, as some physical discomfort still lingers. I am taking a low dose antidepressant, and doing pretty well, as I'm able to work and all that.
> I'd be interested in knowing the experience of others. So much you hear these days would lead you to believe we should all be on medicine for everything--from social anxiety to heartburn--for the rest of our lives. How many people get depressed, then get well and off of medicine for the long haul?
