the NHS in the uk for all its flaws is the way
I think health should be done. Everyone rich or poor can get the drugs they need be they cheap or 1000's a shot. In the uk there is private healthcare that people can pay for in order to get faster care and more perks, so no one is forced to take the NHS (but most do).
The main gripe I have with the system is that there is private health care- the money could be ploughed into the NHS -but I guess thats a little 2 marxist.

> Six months to see a doc? I wish all the people in the USA that think a national health care system is a good idea could read your post.
> I would love to help with some suggestions, but the description of your symptoms just isn't complete enough to get a hint of what's going on.
> If you live close enough to the USA, you could plan a visit to see a doc in the USA. If you don't live close, there are mailorder sources that have most of the major common psychiatric drugs available without a prescription. Delivery takes about a month, which is certainly a lot better than waiting six months.
> In any case, I think the six month wait highlights how flawed some of our best ideas turn out to be. National health care obviously seems like a cool idea, until you see how it actually turns out in the real world. Take the competition and the market place out of the equation, and things get all screwed up. Our best laid plans fall flat on their faces. Problems we never even thought of pop up all over the place.
