Subject: Cyproheptadine for aggressive behavior

We've had some success with cyproheptadine in a 40-year old woman who had to be restrained physically and was unable to talk or walk, but attacked others who came near to her. What gave us the idea was the fact that she deteriorated severely on fluoxetine. After 6 weeks on 4 mg cyproheptadine she is walking unaided and her behaviour is almost "normal".
