I've got a job interview in the morning =)

Posted by oldschool305 on November 14, 2007, at 21:59:39

and I am sooooooo nervous. I am worried that I won't get any sleep tonight because I slept half of the day. Lexapro really makes me sleeeeeeeeeeepy all day. And when I don't get enough sleep, I feel like dying. Not the typical, yawnnn... I'm sleepy today. No, it's more like depersonalization. Anyone ever experience that? It's horrible, you don't want to leave the house, everything seems surreal.

Anyways, I am trying to think positive. I really need this job before my mom kicks me out. I am one week sober now (no booze, woo hoo) and I am hoping to stay sober forever. One day at a time though. Well, wish me luck =) I am interviewing at American Express for a Travel Agent position. I worked in the travel industry for years and loved it, but could never hold a job because of my anxiety/sleeping problems/etc. I hope things are different this time around.

Hi Oldschool305,

I think that you slept good is a real positive sign. I know from having too many job interviews to keep track of how nerve wracking they are.

I hope you get it. Let us know.

Well the interview went very very well =) I will find out by Tuesday if I got it or not. The problem with me is, getting a job is not the hard part. The hard part is holding on to a job. I never feel good, one day to the next everything changes with me. Then I end up quitting wonderful jobs. My favorite job was at a cruise line, I did the air bookings for guests going on cruises. It was so much fun, to watch the cruises depart each day, sit on the bay and watch the dolphins. The money was nice, my co-workers were wonderful. But I guess the stress got to me, the drinking, medications pooping out, etc.

Well, I will let you all know on Tuesday if I got it or not =) Thanks for the good vibes.

I GOT THE JOB =)

Very good news, OldSchool! Look upon this new job as a gift that your new sobriety gave you. What a wonderful feeling :-)
