d/c'ing pristiq, keeping wellbutrin; suggestions?

will the wellbutrin (bupropion hcl sr) 200 mg prevent withdrawal side effects? i'm on 50mg pristiq. plan to just chomp it in 1/2. take that for...? how long? suggestions for a plan?

Pesonally don't see how wellbutrin could prevent withdrawal what about a low dose of prozac? Phillipa

was hoping to do this w/o having to see my pdoc again. wellbutrin is all i have on hand. i'll dig around for an ssri. perhaps i have something that's not too aged.

I think Phillipa's suggestion about prozac is good. Depends how much withdrawal syndrome you may have. For myself, benydryl wouldn't cut it. I hear you that you would rather avoid the pdoc. Just take care. My effexor withdrawal (self-guided) lasted too long and I think, was not great for me in the long run. I'm on 50 pristiq, too. Cutting tabs doesn't seem to be a problem (I went from 100 to 50). The last bit of taper seems to be most difficult--however, I'm sure you know that. Good luck!
