Welcome back to the student page.

That's right. I llurps, am going to be a student again. I dabbled in classes last year as a continuing education student, and decided to apply for the full-time postdoc program.

In a nutshell, it's 20 hours a week at my jobsite for practical training and 5 classes to cover the academics.

I can't believe I'm taking *5* classes. this is truly crazy. It's one of the truly craziest things I've ever done in my life.

Yay ll! Welcome to the club! 5 classes isnt' too bad, but it'll get it done faster than 4!
Sorry it's taken me so long to respond -- I've been away from the computer for about a month.

Hi nfc, Gee,
Nice to see you guys around :)

Soooo... school starts in 2 weeks with an intensive workshop. Kind of a crash course.

I'm trying to get prepared- I bought 180 dollars worth of books today. (ouch) and that's just to get myself oriented and for one class. I'm going to try to read the first few weeks of readings for this one class so that I won't be overwhelmed all at once.

My post-doc is in clinical psychology- My doc is in psychology also, but more from a research point of view. I decided I wanted to help folks rather than publish articles and try and get tenure as a professor. Who woulda thunk it?

I took a couple of classes last year, but I was in bad shape (in terms of my own mental health). This time around I feel more confident. I hope that all goes well.

Let's keep the students page alive and well!

cheerio,
Ll

hey llurps,

kudos to you on getting that degree in clinical psych. will u do online therapy? i'd like to sign up! :D

my books cost me nearly 300 bucks. eeekkk!!!
hope it pays off though. my major is just a certificate of completion in automotive mechanics. me wanting to be my own mechanic. :D

and that's noble of you wanting to help people. you'll do well in skool and once u get out into the field. we're all learning the empathy part through our experiences and being on this board which i feel is crucial in being a psychologist or therapist.

hope the best for u healthwise so you're skooling goes well! and i hope the same for myself also!

take care,

nfc
