so, for example, when a CE has identified themself as being a bully sellout who is incompetent at promoting or furthering the interests of genuine growth and development and the like...
they invite them to apply for an all expenses paid trip to new zealand.
they do keep on about how we need to offer these people tons of money to properly incentivise them to give up their lives overseas and move all the way to new zealand. make the place seem attractive so they'll be inspired to do that.
i suppose because the northern hemisphere wants to get rid of them.
get them out of the picture. because they are an impediment or obstruction, i suppose.
that's likely why they say the CE pay is so high. so that if people from overseas get an offer from new zealand they think they've got a pretty sweet deal.
particularly if they don't have ties or connections or whatever in the northern hemisphere. if getting away is attrative.
if operating in a country of less laws with less precedent is attractive.
more ability to get away with... things that are prohibited overseas. less laws usually means less protections for the people... on paper anyway. less capacity to deliver justice...

genuine talks.

i remember the relatively early talk by the australian ethics guy. basically saying that the australians (many of them) are taught that they are working off bonded places or they don't get to do medicine at all. working off the bonded places means complying with government directive. whether it be upliftnig kids to state care or performing euthanasia or whatever. you do what you are told when you are told because you are told or you don't have any job at all. no training programme. no job. your job is to do as you are told. that is the job. that is the nature of the job.
because that's one of the forms modern warfare takes. how we keep popualtions opporessed. feeding them infant milk formula that's been carefully formulated to keep them in a state of nutritional deprivation and the like...
keeping attention focused on 'accidental' thing sthat will take money and resources to fix. adn saying it is hard but we are trying...
diverting attention from all the money and resources we intentionally invest and expend on artificially holding back and keeping down.

increasingly they will only sign off on the people they know won't work independently. won't produce during the post-doc. will be distracted by parties and undergrads.

just replace them with the new generation.

somehwere in teh world are people with the desire to live.
people who have elaborate protective structures built up to protect themselves and the ones they care about.
to protect their way of life.
what way of life ist hat?
a way of life where people are good and kind to each other. where they honor their contracts. where they behave honestly. with integrity. where there is genuine try. people who are intelligent.
these sorts of kinds of things.
and these people need to be careful not to be inflitrated or taken over by psychopaths.
by people who are opportunitistic and selfish. who will stab them in the back.
people like that.
and these people likely have a will to live.
and these people care for others.
and these people invest in health.
and these people want healthcare. a cornerstone of which is informed consent.
and they have ability to pay and invest in good things.
and they don't want to be swindled or taken for a fool. or to squander resources.
they want to see genuine development.
i'm sure there are people like that.
because i have seen glimmers of that. evidnece of that.
so... there we go.

because my life has been planned out for me and i'm only allowed to go:
i'm so glad i'm a gamma baby cleaning my supervisors cats vomit. i can't imagine a better life for me.
and i suppose the idea was that i would just be a humble servant...
and in 4 or 6 or 10 years the other professors and the visitng professors and the university administration would put more and more and more pressure on my supervisor to allow me to be signed off.
and the visitng professors would say tehy had money to keep me. and they would set up something to transition me into. the supervisor would be given an offer for his slave. i mean they would get to say they had a student who got signed off who got a job. that makes it more likely they will get more studnets.
when studnets hear that you never get jobs from doing phd's in philosophy... then.. well that's the strategy they take in new zealand. do a phd in philosophy and spend the rest of your life working on your phd because there never will be a job for you and we will just keep getting government money indefinately for keeping you as a hostage. a slave. never signing you off. theres no job for you. nobody will pay you to do this. you pay us. you pay us. you pay us. you pay us. you pay us. you pay us...
why would anybody enrol in that degree?
well that's right. they go... why would anybody enrol in tha tdegree? it's like they are making an informed consent decisiont be abused. they must have no self esteem. they are willing to set themselves up for a lifetime of debt by enrolling in a degree with us where they are going to pay us indefinately and they will get nothing in return... except for the 'university experience' which is exploitation and abuse.

hey, who wants to sign up for an experiment feeding infants milk formula that's been designed to be too low in potassimum? ahem, i mean, we don't know if it's too low in poatassium because we haven't done a randomised double blind control trial yet. hey, you wanna do that experiment? you wannat be that guy? there's a post-doc in it for you if you wanna be that guy. the new zealnd government will (it turns out) fund that. fund those kinds of studies. and only those kinds of studies...
why?
to keep the people busily working to go to Harvard? where the research doesn't appear to be psychopathic.
a magical distant land where studnets involved in rape over the summer holidays are excluded (rather than included) because of their crimes. where professors lose their laboratories for running laboraties where there is evidnce that falsification of laboratory data takes place where professors are held accountable fo rthe integrity of their studnets findings. wehre there is incentive on professors to behave with integrity.

what reason do i have to belive that it isn't harvard that is responsible for undermining new zealadn universities. maybe it is harvard that pays new zealadn universities to harbor pedophiles and give them teaching qualifications. that pays them to offer scholarships to students who are willing to put their name on projects that are fairly obvously psychopathic.
i wonder if new zealadn does act as a magnet to attract psychopaths. with the research output taht is allowed.

i mean he didn't buy food for it. he told me the cats liked to eat chuck steak. not the cheapest of feeds. he showed me some there was in the fridge so i could see the size to cut it up.
but then he didn't leave food. and he didn't leave money for food.
so i buy that myself... otherwise the cat doesn't get fed.
and the cat doesn't get brushed.
and the cat wasn't very well...
and i brushed it and fed it.
he seemed surprised on his return.
the cat started cleaning itself after being brushed.
it had just sort of given up before that.
anyway...
