The imagery has reawakened existential dread that I haven't felt for a number of years. Maybe too much sci-fi combined with a catholic upbringing.

why :)?

The old acid joke, 'there's nothing to be afraid of? Or like Eliot in East Coker 'The growing terror of nothing to think about'? (really, that hasn't bothered me for years, but he was on a train, maybe crowded, men reading the morning papers, their faces hidden.)

It would be quick. And all the satisfaction of knowing (if there had been time) that there had never been a reason to worry. (Maybe?)

What about asteroids? There would be more warning and they might not be total and complete. They sound worse to me.

They feel like a negation of humanity. Worse than death. An affront. The true other.

Complete indifference.

You don't like the indifference of the universe to humanity? What I do find offensive is humanity's indifference to humanity.

What about that volcanoes in Hawaii? There was some amazing footage from that.

Sometimes for all I care the universe could swallow us up. The human evolutionary experiment is not looking like a great success at this point.

Deneb said once something along the lines of that it was a great relief to her that nothing had any meaning. I may have that a little wrong.

Well that is wonderful food for thought, and I admire the curiosity and fortitude. I'm a fearful goose. Too much psychedelics at some point. I suppose it's a balance of terror and awe. Maybe terror and the sublime. I forget now. But that's the sense.

I am feeling better now. For the past few days my dreams have been suffocating. As an American, the sense of the end of space is uncomfortable. Although I don't understand the science at all, I read that is what may be inside a black hole. My kid understands this more than I do.

I have a Simpsons' level of understanding this....where you end up in an altered state outside a shop for erotic cakes.

But anyway it is that it is like a bathtub, and it is all swirling down the hole. It certainly isn't turning into light? Or maybe it is? Or energy?

We live in societies that are in a state of decline. If you walk around with a smile on your face you haven't been paying attention.

It doesn't bother me that humans on earth are just little specks of dust in the universe. We've only been around for a short time in the history of the earth (much less the universe) and probably won't be around much longer - maybe only a few thousand years, if that much.

I have an existentialist attitude. Our lives are what we make of them. No more, no less. We create our own meaning to our lives.

i watched documentaries on black holes, and they said you can't see them, there gravity and pull in any type of energy or matter, into the event horizon. But i saw the photo, it was kinda blurry but from the documentaries they said you can't see them and that's not correct. But truthfully i don't think we'll ever have to worry about danger of black hole in our solar system, but they are there.

I was watching a movie called event horizon, that the black hole lead to another dimension, relm of darkness, all this crazy stuff started happening. i think we're here for a reason, even though i'm not sure exactly what it is.
