Tranquility Tank experience

Posted by Clearskies on November 29, 2016, at 4:04:58

Oh, man.
It was everything I had hoped. I was so anxious and apprehensive before getting into the glowing blue clam shell pod. I checked for the red panic buttons on either side.

My anxiety melted away as the buoyancy refused to let me sink.

I slept, I dreamt. I felt swaddled, covered in warm flannel. All at skin temperature. There was no place for oanic, no place for anxiety. It carried me for 4 hours.

This sounds remarkable. Can you explain more about what this?

It is a soak in 12" of 93 degree water, saturated with epsom salts to point where you are so buoyant, you float on the surface. It's completely silent - earplugs keep out ambient noise. It is experienced in close to darkness.

The lack of external stimuli induces a profound state of relaxation, brain activity, dreaming, hallucinations sometimes. I was completely relieved of anxiety for hours without my dose of klonopin.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed it. I'd really like to try it, one day. I haven't seen them around for a while, but some place where I grew up got them in. I rememberer you could choose whether they would play you music or whatever or whether it would be silent. I don't know how I'd go with the silent. I'd really like to experience the salty water, though. I love floating in the ocean. Would love to go float in the dead sea, one day.

I think you would like it, if only for the controls at every function. And then the safe place is, well, the only safe place.
I would say you have to be strong enough psychologically unless you expect a delusional experience.

Just an uneducated guess on my part, not meant to insult.

No offence taken. I've certainly had my share of hallunincatory / delusional experiences over the years... With all the LSD and mushrooms and methamphetamine... I guess I thought it wasn't the having of them that was problematic... So much as inability to keep in mind that they are induced by the drugs (or whatever) and that they will pass...

The realisation you're having these experiences without ANY stimuli including pharmaceuticals was really inspiring.
