Avoid avoidance

Posted by 64Bowtie on June 21, 2010, at 4:02:11

We arrive hardwired with a heavy dose of avoidance at birth... We make progress in our lives overcoming the habit of avoidance first, mediate later... Culprits we mix with avoidance are arrogance and intolerance added onto the seven deadly sins of the Baltimore Catechism... Near the end, our discovering the folly of our avoiding ways makes avoidance cumbersome, so we discard as much as we can or dare to, but we never quite get to zero...

I read your posting that your "T" suggested that you step back occasionally and depressurise... I've tried that along with occasionally staying and just dealing with identifying the pressurising culprits and reducing their influence (on me)... Both strategies work for me...

Is that a picture of you from behind??? You look like you are taking care of yourself...

I'm doing what I never saw myself successful at... I am primary live-in caregiver for my 89 year old Dad... I was born on his birthday so Astrologically we are potentially "NUCLEAR"!!!

Weeellllll, we have negative moments... I am on his case about his lack of grace and graciousness... It's been a rennaisance for me, since I honestly have been sadly lacking in my own version of such grace... I actually feel more whole and part of the human race with my personal overhaul at this peculiar level...

Many have commented on my ability to charm friends and strangers... Trust me... I didn't do it with graciousness... Charm is not the same as grace... For me, perhaps now they can work together... Time will tell...
